Pen and Ink Artwork (first lessons used to learn a sequential method of drawing)
Students dramatically enhance their perception of shape and improve their drawing skills as they work in Pencil. They then broaden their understanding of line and value when they finish pictures in Pen and Ink
Refining Delicate Techniques
Our teen-aged students are continually challenged to deepen their understanding of line, shape, value, color, and edge relationships to improve their skills. In this sampling of watercolor paintings, you will see many of our 14 to 18 year old pupils have also ventured into the realm of gouache and color pencil techniques.
A Time-Honored Medium
As teen students advance from watercolor to oil painting, they copy masterworks and follow demonstrations by instructors. Student projects address specific artistic principles such as line variety, value and color mixing as they pursue styles and themes that they find most interesting.
